Missions
Joseph Torres, Director of Missions Ministry
Joseph came to Christ in 2003 and has been an Elder since 2019. During his time in the United States Army and his almost two-year deployment in Iraq, he found that not only did God guide and protect him, He was revealing the plan that was set before him. After completing his military service in 2009, he followed the leading of the Lord and was blessed to be part of an amazing fellowship at Calvary Chapel Artesia in 2013, which is where he serves as an Elder. He is a husband and a father of three amazing children. Joseph and his beautiful wife Ruth have been married since October 2011 and love to serve within the church together.
OVERVIEW
“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” Acts 1:8
We’re told that if the national kingdom we want would be delayed, the power we need would not. As a result, we receive God’s promised power so that we would become witnesses of Jesus, all over the earth. As God sends His children to share the Gospel in many places, but the Holy Spirit empowers His children to do His work.
In Mark 16:15, Jesus says to the disciples, “Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation.” Here at Calvary Chapel Artesia, it’s our desire to live out this commission to share the good news of the Gospel and the love of Christ.
